Our First Two School Skateboarding Workshops
We just wrapped up our first two school skateboarding workshops at Cadotte Lake School and Suzuki Charter School. Both went extremely well, and we’re going to keep running them seasonally.
New to us? Project Rad Skateboarding is an Edmonton skateboarding business offering lessons, camps, and school workshops for kids.
Each workshop ran over two days with a group of up to 25 kids, and we ran both programs right at the schools. Nobody had to be bussed anywhere. We brought everything to them.
Note: We had permission from the families of the children participating & the schools to use these photos publicly.
Cadotte Lake
Cadotte Lake was a special one. We just made the connections. Globe, Frontline Snow & Skate, and Woodland Cree First Nation made it happen, getting 10 complete skateboards into the community. Huge thanks to all three.

I also want to say how welcoming everyone was. The staff and the kids were generous, kind, and caring right from the start. It’s something I’ll remember about this one.
Here’s a Cadotte Lake School video from the workshop:
Suzuki Charter School
By the end of day two, most of the kids at Suzuki were comfortable on a board, pushing and turning. For a lot of them, that was their first time ever on one.
What got me was that a bunch of them told us they wanted to keep going. They were bummed it was only two days. That’s about the best feedback we could ask for.

Where we can run a school skateboarding program
We offer both indoor and outdoor programs, and we’re pretty flexible. If your school has a smooth outdoor space, we can use it. We can also work out of a neighbourhood skatepark, an ice rink, or your gym. In the winter, we can use the Foam Fighters indoor facility.
We can run our school skateboarding program for up to 30 kids in a single class. If you have more than 30, we split into groups.
Our pricing is reasonable, and we’re easy to work with.
Homeschool groups
We’ve also started running skateboarding programs for homeschool groups. If you’re part of one and want to try it, get in touch. Looking for something for your own kid? Check out our skateboard lessons.
Want us at your school?
We’d love to bring our two-day skateboarding workshop to other school boards. If you’re a teacher, principal, or someone on a school board who’s interested, tell us your idea and request a quote at info@projectrad.ca. You can also read more about us or see our skateboard lessons for kids outside of school.
Special shoutout: Thanks to Dustin at Doing Business Distribution for connecting us with his collaborators at Globe and Frontline.
